03 Accounts

3.1 Registration

Registration requires a valid email address and a password meeting our strength requirements (minimum 8 characters, including uppercase, lowercase, number, and symbol). A username is auto-generated at registration and may be customised — usernames must be unique across all accounts. Your country is auto-detected from your IP address at registration if you do not select one manually; you may update it at any time from your Profile page.

3.2 Account Security

  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account credentials
  • You must not share your login details with any other person
  • Notify us immediately of any suspected unauthorised access at [email protected]
  • Use the "Forgot password?" feature to reset a lost or compromised password at any time

3.3 Trusted Devices

The Remember this device option at login stores a persistent session on your device. This feature is opt-in and unchecked by default. A maximum of 10 trusted devices may be registered per account. You may view and revoke any trusted device at any time from your Profile page.

Do not enable Remember this device on public or shared devices. Anyone with access to that device may be able to access your account.

3.4 One Account Per Person

Each person may hold one registered account. Creating multiple accounts to manipulate rankings, exploit bonuses, or evade account restrictions is prohibited and will result in the termination of all associated accounts without notice.

3.5 Username and Tag Team Name Policy

Usernames may contain only letters, numbers, and underscores. Tag Team names may contain letters, numbers, and spaces. Both must:

  • Be unique across all accounts
  • Not impersonate any individual, organisation, or trademark
  • Not contain offensive, harmful, or misleading content

We reserve the right to require changes to any username or Tag Team name that violates these requirements, at our sole discretion.

04 Game Modes

Orbaris currently offers four game modes. All modes use the same 7×6 grid and connect-four win condition.

Mode 01
Classic

1v1 real-time or hot-seat play. Challenge a registered opponent via a 6-character join code, play against a friend on the same device, or face an AI opponent. A draw occurs when the board fills with no winner — each player receives 1 point and win streaks reset.

Mode 02
Elimination

Battle royale format supporting 3 to 20 players. Players join public queues by player count. Bot players automatically fill empty slots when the timer expires. The last surviving player wins the prize pool. Rewarded ads are available after a connect-four (opt-in, free users only).

Mode 03
Tag Team

Each human player partners with one AI bot. All bots in a session share the same difficulty and style — set by the first human to join — ensuring every team is evenly matched. Players must have a persistent Tag Team name set in their Profile before joining. Tag Team names are permanent once they accumulate leaderboard points.

Mode 04
Private Games

A host generates a 6-character join code and shares it with invited players. The host's device runs all game logic and broadcasts state to connected players. Remaining slots may be filled with bot players. Private game results are recorded to player stats.

4.1 Real-Time Multiplayer & Host Migration

In real-time sessions, one player acts as the host and runs all game logic and AI processing. Other players are guests who send moves to the host and receive game state updates in return. If the host disconnects during an active game, host duties automatically transfer to the next eligible connected player — the game continues from where it left off without restarting. This transfer is fully automated and cannot be manually assigned or overridden.

Deliberately disconnecting as host to disrupt an active game is a fair play violation — see Section 7.

05 Free & Premium Access

5.1 Free Tier

Orbaris is free to play with full access to all gameplay features, all four game modes, leaderboards, and competitive ranking. Free accounts are shown third-party advertisements during gameplay (see Section 8 of our Privacy Policy for details).

5.2 Premium Access

A premium subscription removes all advertising. Premium status provides no competitive advantage — all scoring, ranking, and gameplay mechanics are identical for free and premium users. Premium is a quality-of-experience upgrade only.

5.3 Registration Bonus

New accounts receive 100 points upon registration. This bonus is awarded once per account only and is not transferable. Registration bonus points awarded in error may be reclaimed.

5.4 Rewarded Advertising

After completing a connect-four during Elimination games, free users may optionally watch a short advertisement to earn bonus points. This feature is entirely opt-in. Declining carries no penalty and does not affect gameplay or other players in the session.

Premium subscribers are never shown advertisements — including rewarded ads. All ad interactions are strictly optional for free users.

06 In-Game Taunts

Orbaris includes a pre-written in-game messaging system that lets players send short messages to others in the same session. Messages are drawn from three curated categories: Taunt, Respect, and React. By using this feature, you agree that:

  • All messages are pre-written — no free-text input is permitted through the taunt system
  • Messages are delivered to all players in the current session and are transient — they are not stored after the game ends
  • The feature is intended for competitive expression within the spirit of fair play
  • Using the taunt system as part of a pattern of targeted harassment toward a specific player may be treated as a conduct violation under Section 7

07 Fair Play

7.1 Prohibited Behaviour

The following actions are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination:

ViolationExamples
AutomationUsing bots, scripts, or any automated tool to play, move, or interact on your behalf
Exploit abuseDeliberately exploiting bugs, glitches, or technical vulnerabilities for competitive advantage
Multi-accountingCreating or operating more than one account to inflate ratings, points, or rankings
CollusionCoordinating with other players to manipulate leaderboard results or game outcomes
Intentional lossesDeliberately losing games to influence another player's ranking
Host abuseDeliberately disconnecting as host to disrupt or end an active game session
Host migration abuseAttempting to manipulate the automatic host migration system for competitive gain

7.2 Quality Score & Bot Integrity Score

Every player has a publicly visible Quality Score (0–100) calculated from their game history, including opponent types and bot difficulty levels faced. Tag Team players additionally have a Bot Integrity Score reflecting the average difficulty of AI opponents they have faced. These scores are designed to make the integrity of every player's competitive record transparent to the community. They are informational metrics, not punitive measures.

7.3 Turn Timers & Forfeiture

Timed game modes enforce a per-move clock. Missing two consecutive turns results in automatic forfeiture of the game. Disconnection and inactivity are treated identically to deliberate forfeiture — your opponent is not penalised. Turn timers are an intentional competitive mechanic, not a technical limitation.

Violations of fair play rules may result in immediate account suspension or permanent termination without refund of any premium subscription. We reserve the right to take action against any account at our sole discretion where fair play violations are suspected.

08 Additional Prohibited Conduct

In addition to fair play violations, the following are prohibited when using any part of the Orbaris service:

  • Using the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any part of the service, its infrastructure, or other users' accounts
  • Transmitting malware, spam, harmful code, or unsolicited communications of any kind

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon termination — whether by you or by us — your right to access and use the service ends immediately. In-game items, points, and rankings are forfeited upon termination and are not recoverable.

13 Governing Law

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Tier1 Options GL Inc is incorporated, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or the service will first be subject to good-faith negotiation between the parties.
